I've installed the Z1 Q60/Q50 Solid Steering Rack Bushings. This was not super easy to install. There isn't alot of real estate to move the steering rack around to twist out the OEM bushings. I did this install with the transmission out of the car, so it was a tad easier. Per Z1's recommendation on the install documents, I did freeze the aluminum bushings overnight to shrink them a tad for easier install. I also used an impact gun which worked pretty good pulling the new bushings in. Let me know if there are any questions.

Please let us know if there are any adverse affects to NVH. I'm interested in how this upgrade affects track use as well if you have any track days planned out.

I am sure there will be some increase in NVH, but since this is a track car, I may not even notice due to the solid motor and trans mounts and 24k f and 14k r springs. Once the car is back to road worthy status, I'll update how the solid steering bushings feel.

There sure will be. Hopefully it’s not as bad when I went ahead with a solid mount driveshaft guibo instead of the membranes guibo and ended up sticking with the oem rubber guibo.

Thanks....actually I was mostly wondering because I've had problems with DAS overheating with track work and it looks like you might track yours.

Do you have a power steering reservoir under the bonnet?

No reservoir under the bonnet. Mine is electronic. One of my first track days, the 'sport' setting to the steering nearly sent me off track. It was a high g right hander and the system 'stiffened' the steering so much, it nearly jerked the steering wheel out of my hand. From then on, I only run the 'normal' steering setting.
